(sound of needle screeching across record) Oops - upgrade angst.

I was going to upgrade to 48v on my eZip then I saw this bike

It really appeals to my minimalist tendencies. I was hoping to overlook the not-so-streamlined eZip style in favor of more power, but I'm having trouble.

The Cytronex is not available in the US yet but according to the owner/designer Mark, they are making and testing a kit they'll ship in a few months, they say. I started thinking maybe I could have my British buddy bring one back when she visits next month but I really want to try one out first. They're pretty expensive as well, but not nearly as much as the Optibike (you can tell I'm working on talking myself into it).

So then I look at Currie's blog. I notice on their site they offer upgrade specials to SCOOTER owners, and on a phone call I'm told they don't offer it to bike owners. I'd be very interested in upgrading to one of their iZip bikes if they offered such a program.

OK, maybe not. I just called - twice. The first guy said the Trekking and Urban Cruiser enlightened had LiIon batteries but the website says NiMH. When I called back, the next guy couldn't answer my questions. Aargh, I guess I wasn't meant to be a repeat CUrrie customer.
