Texx,
I'm glad you like yours. I'm very happy with mine. I set it when I park and lock the bike in the forest and hike around. It's gone off a couple of times when I've done this and it's very loud. (I don't think humans have triggered the alarm when I've parked deep in the forest. ) In fact, I set it all the time, even when my bike is parked in my shop.
Just remember, if it won't stay set, the battery probably needs replacing. When you replace the battery you will have to reset your personal code. I don't have issues with the 9V battery life until winter arrives. My garage/shop isn't heated and extreme cold can kill the 9V batteries more quickly.
A determined thief will steal any bike, but the harder you make it for them to steal your bike quickly and without notice, the more likely it will be that they'll pick another target that's easier to get away with quickly. The locals here laugh at me because I lock everything up, but then I'm a city girl.

Mountainbiker ..
Thanks for your comments and your visits to my thread ..
Discuss bikes is always fun.
Very often, I stopped to get a little taste, in several places.
These places do not always stand-rack for bicycles, so I must leave my SCHWINN near a window...and watch, while enjoying my meal.
This alarm will be very useful to me in these places... and also, where I stopped a few minutes, and it is impossible to attach the bike.
If my bike is on a stand, and it is very well locked, my alarm will not be armed, another cyclist, could hang my bike, and the alarm would sound.
My wife ordered her alarm...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
.. and I have to install a flashing kit, and this new kit that I ordered, was not similar to mine, he is better.
New flasher ..
The light is stronger on the whole system .
He lights three times as mine.
I may be changing mine.
My flasher...
Also, I think ordering a horn, it is suppose to have a good sound.
Product Description:
This electronic bell is the voice of all bicycles in the largest electronic bell, even if the sound is very outstanding in the downtown area.
Ring way: there is a continuous ring, car horn-type sound, ambulance-style ring, alarm-type sound, and other kinds of voices, click the Transform one of a certain kind of sound can not be fixed! ! !
Again, the price is very affordable. US $5.94 .. Cooooooooollllllllllllll ..
I'll show you, after installation ..
Thank.

It's good to have a loud horn, especially in a congested urban/suburban area. I went with an Airzound because it doesn't require batteries. However, the price on the one you're looking at is much better.
It's interesting to hear that the lights on the turn signals for your wife's e-bike are better.

I'll prepare a little video to demonstrate the difference of the two flashing kit.
And also, the horn, when I have received.

Hello ..
Another little Gadget for my SCHWINN.
I installed 2 x 24 LED LIGHT HOOK, on my SCHWINN.
It should be strong enough to see the road at nightfall.
I already did a test with new battery, and they worked during 8 / 10 hours, before starting to lose their intensity.
For a few hours a week, the light should do the job... and their price is ridiculous.
A new little video, will follow very soon.
24 LEDS HOOK LIGHT

Texx,
Good work! You can never have too many lights (or locks) for your bike. I need to order a Magicshine tail light before our dark months return. I'll add it as a second rear light. It should have a stronger output than my current rear blinkie since it uses a LiIon pack (same size as the pack that powers my two front Magicshine headlights). I just ordered the Sweetskinz blue and black tires since the sale price was so good. Even though it will mean taking the motor wheel off at least 2 more times this year (I'll be installing a studded winter tire in late October or early November, depending on the weather), I'll install the Sweetskinz once they arrive rather than waiting until next spring. I want to see what they're like installed on the bike. The front tire on my current set of tires is still in good shape, but the added weight on the rear wheel has worn down the center tread on the rear tire. I'll keep my current tires in reserve.

Mountainbiker ..
I did a little research on the product Magicshine, and I understand why you used. They are efficient.
You need these lights for your escapades in the dark forest, when night approaches. Good lighting is reassuring.
Tires, Sweetskinz, will surely be a success on your bike.
I can not wait to see the photos.
Living in an environment like yours, it takes several additions to the bike.
Good battery / Super Light / Spare parts / Good tires / Equipment Repair / Solid rack / Super bags / 21 speed .. etc. ..
You are lucky to live where you live, you can have several projects on the table.
A second bike, for example (49cc? Gas bike : -)

or other ..
If I lived near your home, it would be my next project.
But I remain at 14 floor of a tall building, and the lack of space for tinkering, saddens me.
But I'm happy with my SCHWINN, and I had a great time to bring him his additions.

Texx,
I do enjoy having the space to tinker, but urban life does have advantages too. Hmm, the gas bike looks nice, but one of the things I like about my e-bike is that I'm not required to license and insure it. When I get a second bike, it will be an e-bike, too. I keep vacillating between a regular bike or a folding bike for my second one. I wish Bike Friday's folding bikes weren't so expensive. They're coming out with an e-Tikit for 2011, I think. However, I think the price is going to be far higher than I'm willing to pay.
I'll post photos of the new tires once I get them and get them installed on the bike. I'm anxious to see how visible they are at night when light hits them.

This folding bike is irresistible.
I hope you get it, if the price is reasonable.

Summer is nice and warm, and this bike will not remain idle, on my balcony.

Texx,
Your city is beautiful. You must have fun exploring by e-bike. Are the drivers there sane? I gave up riding my bike on the streets of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and instead would drive my bike to a bike path to ride. Aggressive driving and road rage in the D.C. area increased to the point where I just didn't feel safe on the bike public streets.

Mountainbiker.
Now we have several bike trails, which meander the city and its surroundings.
Go to the main street, is dangerous, and for this reason that my wife and I prefer the bike paths.
##########################################################
I did a quick speed test with my SCHWINN I-ZIP, a bike trail, flat terrain, with moderate wind .. without using the pedals, and a second battery in overweight + My weight 170 pounds ..
28-31 klm-h (17 to 18.5 mph).
This speed is sufficient on the bike paths.
The Wilderness of my wife, traveling at substantially the same speed.
That, for the small speed test.
Thank ..
PS..
Approximately, 65 klm ( 39 miles) with my 2 battery 24 volts each , a speed of 16/18 klm-h, on bike path (with minimal assistance)
Small video .....

Where did you find that turn signal setup? I've been looking for one, and all I can find is the little "Acclaim" one that you had before.

Mountainbiker ..
Tonight I'll do a little video, and we certainly see the difference.
############################################################
A few days ago I did a test ...
I ride 32 klm (19 miles) with my old battery (under my seat) purchased 06/03/2008 .. with minimal assistance.
I do not know if its running time is still long, but it is still powerful.
And for my spare battery, I went to the store QUEBEC-BATTERY, and I did change the battery 12 volt 12 Ah, for battery, 12 volt 14 ah.
The cost was $ 112.00.
I'll surely enough power for my future travel on bike paths ..
########################################################
I took a little video of my new Turning Signal Lights ..
They are much more light in the night that the old kit ..
I am satisfied.

Your original battery is doing much better than my original SLA. That's good. My SLA works, but the capacity is quickly diminishing. A new LIFEPO4 pack will take it's place in the near future.
I look forward to your video. Can you see those signals well in daylight? They're definitely bigger and I like their looks.

Hello ..
I took this little video ...
PS ..
The Flashes of light are all equal, but on video, some of them, are not visible.
This is due to the poor quality of my camera.
Their visibility is somewhat reduced by day... but at night they are really good .. for the price.

Texx,
Thanks for posting the video. Nice lights, you can't beat the price, either. Good job.
